Eleven Eleven Consulting Inc. is an Alberta based, Indigenous owned and operated company. Eleven Eleven is focused on respectful engagement and consultation and educating groups on Canada’s true history with Indigenous Peoples. Teneya Gwin, Director of Eleven Eleven, is proud and excited to continue building on 14 years of Indigenous, public and stakeholder consultation and engagement as well as workshop development and facilitation.

Bio

Teneya Gwin; mother, partner, daughter, sister, auntie, friend, and colleague. Teneya is sixth generation Métis and a member of the Cunningham Clan and descendant from the Michel First Nation. She is a proud Métis woman with a passion to bring awareness and education of Indigenous culture and history to all projects.

  • Community Outreach

    • Indigenous engagement and consultation for a variety of projects looking to commit to meaningful and transparent dialogue

    • Facilitate public and stakeholder engagement sessions in big or small group settings

    • Design engagement and consultation plans for clients. Teneya guides her clients to help build relationships.

  • Program Design and Facilitation

    • Based on the needs of the community, Teneya can design and connect community groups for adult and child programming.

  • Training & Custom Workshops

    • Teneya can customize workshops based on each clients’ level of learning. The workshops and webinars can include: a walk-through Canada’s true history with Indigenous Peoples, addressing myths, land acknowledgements, steps in reconciliation, understanding terminology, etc.

  • Oral History Documentation

    • To capture information shared through oral storytelling, Teneya uses multiple avenues such as voice recordings and mapping exercises. Information will be converted into a usable document for the community.

Why Eleven Eleven?

I'm often asked the meaning behind the company name Eleven Eleven.....

As my career progressed, I was offered a variety of opportunities at a very fast pace. I developed this desire to create goals and priorities for myself both professionally and personally. I noticed as I started to become more successful, my work life was starting to consume my personal life. I needed to step back and look at my value system to find a fit that would bring more balance. I did a lot of thinking and questioning, should I go back to school, should I make a career change, do I want to continue where I am ? I would ask my family and my peers as to where they think I would best be suited. I was shocked when they kept suggesting I start my own business.

During this career reflection period, I would often see the pattern 11:11, either on the clock, on my receipts, in the books I read, the number of emails in my inbox and text messages. The pattern seemed to appear constantly. After some conversations with Elders and friends I discovered that 11:11 was an indication from the universe to be aware of my thoughts when patterns would appear. I became aware that I was thinking more about starting my own business than what I was mentally focused on. I started to pay attention. This is where the universe has led me - Eleven Eleven Consulting.
